When you contact the Transaction Pro for QuickBooks team we may ask you to send us certain files to help us resolve error messages that you are seeing. The purpose of this article is to show you where to find these files and also explain how they are used. For some of our users you may wish to look at some of these documents.
This is the excel, csv or txt file that contains the details of the transactions that you are importing. It is the file that you select when you select the browse button on the first screen of Transaction Pro Importer.
This is the file that you created when you filled out the Transaction Pro Importer mapping screen. Be sure to attach the actual map file and not a screen shot of the mapping screen. If you do not remember where you saved the map file you can sees it location at the top of the mapping screen.
If you want to see what the map file looks like you can open this file with the Notepad application on your computer. When browsing for this file be sure to change the file type to All Files in the lower right. The data before the first comma is the name of the QuickBooks Field that appears on the left hand side of the mapping screen. If you are just matching the data to an import file column after the first comma you will see the header name from your import file. If you provided data in the Static Value/Formula column you will see the word Static: followed by the header name from your import file.
This file is located in your documents directory in the 01 Transaction Pro Importer 6.0 sub-directory. This file tells us which options are selected, the QuickBooks version and other information. You can open this file up in notepad. You can see a sample file settings file below.
